Chick Brooder and Grow-Out Pen Starter Kit
Raise baby chicks and support their growth with a chick brooder and grow-out pen starter kit designed for indoor poultry care. This kit combines a thermostat-controlled brooder for young chicks with a ventilated grow-out pen for developing pullets and young chickens before they transition to an outdoor or free-range flock.
Suitable for beginner backyard chicken keepers and small-scale farms, the two-stage setup helps organize your birds' early growth while making feeding, waste management, and cleaning more manageable.
Features and Benefits
-
Thermostat-controlled brooding: The Chick Brooder – 1 Layer helps maintain a stable temperature during the early weeks of chick development.
-
Integrated feeding and drinking: Built-in feeders and drinkers support everyday chick care, while the feeder design helps reduce feed waste.
-
Removable manure trays: Deep trays collect waste and can be removed to simplify routine cleaning.
-
Power-washable polypropylene: The smooth, non-porous PP plastic surface helps minimize bacteria buildup and odors and is designed for power washing.
-
Room to grow: The Grow-Out Pen – 1 Layer Addition provides a ventilated space for pullets and young chickens as they develop.
-
Stackable, expandable design: The grow-out pen can be stacked and expanded as your flock grows.
-
Practical waste management: Deep manure trays in both units help make routine maintenance more manageable.
Designed for Two Stages of Early Chicken Care
Stage 1: Brooding baby chicks
Use the chick brooder during the first several weeks, approximately weeks 1–6. Its thermostat-controlled heating system helps maintain a stable temperature, while integrated feeders, drinkers, and a removable manure tray support everyday care.
Stage 2: Growing young chickens
At around weeks 6–12, the grow-out pen provides a ventilated space for pullets and young chickens as they continue developing. Its stackable design allows for expansion, and the pen can also help when introducing new birds to an existing flock.
Stage 3: Transitioning to an outdoor flock
Birds can move toward an outdoor or free-range setup as they develop and conditions allow. Timing varies with breed, room temperature, and the surrounding environment.
Easy-Clean PP Plastic Construction
Both units use a polypropylene plastic system designed for practical poultry care. The smooth, non-porous surface helps minimize bacteria buildup and odors, and the components are power-washable for cleaning. Unlike wood, the plastic does not absorb moisture in the same way, and unlike metal, it is rust-proof.
