Shipping chicken coops is crazy complicated! From loading up your coop on the delivery truck to that perfect spot in your yard, we handle the setup from start to finish. Anytime a coop moves from one state to another, an interstate permit is required. For example, a coop coming from Pennsylvania to New York requires one permit, a coop moving from Pennsylvania to Texas requires multiple permits.
Coops over 12 feet wide require escort drivers in a separate vehicle to guide the delivery truck safely to its destination. Needing an escort driver can double to triple delivery costs, so we keep our coops under 12 feet wide to keep shipping costs down.
Trucks often experience detours and can only take routes that can handle large vehicles. For each delivery, we factor in a 10% buffer on mileage. That way, your shipping estimate holds true even if the driver has to detour.
Deliveries less than 600 miles from the manufacturer require a base rate or a freight setup fee to reserve the delivery team. Freight setup is waved for deliveries over 600 miles.
Yard Placement costs vary by county, state, and company performing the placement.
