Preening supplies help chickens clean up and care for their feathers.

Use simple tools like a dust bath pan, a soft brush, light feather mist/conditioner labeled for poultry, comb & wattle balm, and nail/claw trimmers. They remove dirt, spread natural oils, cut down on broken feathers, and keep birds calm—especially during molt, after rain or mud, or before a show/photo. Keep sessions short and gentle, brush with the feathers, and keep sprays away from eyes and nostrils; let birds dry before bedtime. Skip strong perfumes or human hair products, and always check for mites, lice, or injuries while you groom.
