Incubation & Brooding

From egg to fluffy chick, this Incubation & Brooding collection covers the basics.

Start with an incubator/setter (or combo), an egg candler, and a hygrometer/thermometer; rest eggs pointy-end down 12–24 hours, incubate around 99–100°F, turn 3–5 times a day, candle on day 7–10, and stop turning for the last 3 days (“lockdown”). After hatch, move chicks to a brooder with a heating plate or lamp (about 95°F the first week, lowering 5°F each week), plus non-slip bedding and chick-size feeder and waterer. Keep everything clean and dry, and follow each product’s directions for best results.
