Choose classic bedding like pine shavings, straw, hemp, or pellets to control smells and moisture; skip cedar because the oils can bother birds. Add nesting boxes so hens lay in one spot—aim for about 1 box per 3–4 hens (around 12"×12" works well). Use nesting pads for cleaner eggs and fast box clean-ups, and sprinkle a little nesting herb mix (lavender, mint, oregano) to freshen and help calm hens. Keep bedding dry and fluffy, spot-clean often, and change it when damp or smelly; good ventilation helps your flock stay healthy.
