Wing Tags

Wing tags give each bird a permanent ID so you can track breed, age, vaccines, and breeding pairs—useful for big flocks, shows, and farm records.

They attach through the soft wing web (thin skin under the wing) and usually feel like a quick pinch; most birds flinch and then settle within seconds when handled calmly. For safety, use the right size tag, a clean/disinfected applicator, and place it in the web (not through bone or feathers); make it snug, not tight. Tag healthy birds with a helper, keep the session short, and check weekly for rubbing or redness—clean or remove if you see swelling, bleeding that doesn’t stop, or the bird acts painful. Clear, lasting IDs make sorting, feeding, and health checks faster and easier.
