Cleaning Sprays & Chemicals, Nesting Herbs

Let’s keep your coop clean and safe. Choose poultry-safe cleaners: a gentle daily spray, an enzyme or oxygen cleaner for odors, and a stronger deep-clean spray for big scrub days. Add nesting herbs (like lavender, mint, or oregano) to boxes and bedding—they help the coop smell fresh, can calm hens, encourage tidy nests, and may discourage some bugs. Don’t mix bleach and ammonia, don’t spray birds or near feed and water, and always leave good airflow while things dry. Follow the label, wear gloves, and let surfaces fully dry before the flock goes back in.
