View full detailsUse saline/wound wash first to rinse dirt, then a poultry-safe antiseptic spray to help stop germs. For bleeding, use styptic powder (or cornstarch) on small nicks; for larger scrapes, add a non-stick pad and vet wrap—snug, not tight. In fly season, finish with a fly-shield/protective spray made for poultry to help prevent maggots (fly strike). Check the wound daily, keep the coop dry and clean, and separate gentle birds if pecking starts. See a poultry vet for deep punctures, heavy bleeding, eye injuries, or if a bird won’t eat or perk up—quick care means faster healing and less stress for your flock.
