Grit

Poultry grit is small stones that help birds grind food in their gizzard because they don’t have teeth.


Grit helps digestion, lets them use more nutrients, and can prevent sour or blocked crop.
Without grit, feed may not break down well, leading to tummy trouble, runny poop, and poor growth.
Offer grit free-choice in a separate dish (chick, grower, or layer size), keep it dry, and refill weekly—a small handful for 5–10 birds usually lasts several days.
