Bug Control

If flies, mites, or lice are bugging your flock, here’s the simple plan we recommend: set fly traps outside the coop door, hang sticky ribbons in safe, out-of-reach spots, and keep air moving with a small fan—then stay ahead of flies by keeping bedding dry and cleaning up feed spills fast. For mites and lice, treat the coop and the birds at the same time: spray or dust roosts, cracks, and nest boxes with poultry-safe treatments, offer a dust bath (sand with a little wood ash or food-grade diatomaceous earth), bag and toss old bedding, and repeat as the label directs (often again in about 7 days). Picked for you to make the cleaning routine easy—just follow the label, keep products away from feed and water, and let areas dry before birds return.
