Rite Farm Products 9" x 16" Poultry Shrink Bags – 2 Mil, BPA-Free

Preparing chickens for home processing or resale? Rite Farm Products 9" x 16" poultry shrink bags help give processed birds a neat, professional appearance while providing a strong barrier for packaging. Sized for poultry weighing 3.5 to 6.5 pounds, these 2 mil shrink bags feature a curved base that helps create a snug, finished fit around the bird.

Made in the USA and BPA-free, these poultry packaging bags are a practical choice for poultry keepers, small farms, and breeders who prepare birds for sale or personal use. The simple hot-water shrinking process helps the bag conform closely to the poultry, creating a tidy package for storage or presentation.

Key Features

  • 9" x 16" Poultry Shrink Bags: Sized for birds weighing 3.5 to 6.5 pounds, helping you choose packaging suited to the poultry you process.
  • 2 Mil Barrier Thickness: Provides a strong packaging barrier for enclosing processed poultry.
  • Curved Base Design: Helps the bag fit closely around the bird for a cleaner, more professional presentation.
  • Made in the USA: Manufactured domestically for poultry packaging needs.
  • BPA-Free: Made without BPA, an important consideration when selecting poultry packaging materials.

How to Use Poultry Shrink Bags

  • 1. Heat the water: Heat a pot of water to 185°F or higher.
  • 2. Insert the poultry: Place the bird into the bag neck-first.
  • 3. Remove excess air: Press the bag gently to push out as much air as possible.
  • 4. Secure the opening: Twist or spin the open end closed, then secure it with ring pliers and a ring or with a zip tie.
  • 5. Cut an air-release slit: Make a small, 1-inch slit in the center of the bag just below the breast. This opening allows air to escape during shrinking.
  • 6. Shrink the bag: Dunk the bagged poultry in the hot water for 2 to 3 seconds, then remove it. Do not dunk for longer than 3 seconds, as water may enter through the slit.
  • 7. Cover the slit: Place a label over the air-release slit. For personal use without labels, strong waterproof tape can be used instead.
