These tools keep water flowing in cold and winter climates, so you don’t have to break ice all day and your birds stay hydrated. Choose a heated waterer, a heated base under a metal waterer, or a de-icer for larger buckets and tanks—many work down to well below 32°F. The benefits are simple: less work for you, cleaner water, and healthier birds that drink more in the cold. For best results, place the waterer in a sheltered spot, use an outdoor-rated cord on a GFCI outlet, keep cords out of bedding, and check the unit during very cold snaps. In mild areas, you can save these for cold spells and store them the rest of the year.
