Hatchers

Egg hatchers are machines for the last days before hatch.

Move eggs into the hatcher at “lockdown” (about the last 3 days for chicken eggs), stop turning, and hold steady heat with slightly higher humidity so chicks can pip, zip, and dry safely. Hatchers use baskets and extra airflow to keep chicks from bumping other eggs and to keep the setter cleaner. Many have digital temp/humidity, alarms, and clear windows, and work for chickens, quail, ducks, and pheasants. For best results, start the hatcher 24 hours early to stabilize, and avoid opening the door until most chicks are dry and ready for the brooder.
