HenGear nest boxes are designed to keep your eggs unbroken and clean of dirt and manure by separating
freshly laid eggs from your hens the moment they’re laid.
Each nest box features a slightly angled floor covered with a removable grass-like cushion that allows eggs to roll
safely into a separate collection compartment—protecting them from being stepped on, slept on, or contaminated inside
the nesting area.
Cleaner Eggs—Right From the Start
Instead of sitting inside the nest where hens can accidentally damage them, eggs gently roll into the protected tray
for easier collection and reduced breakage.
This helps:
- Minimize broken eggs
- Reduce manure contamination
- Discourage egg-eating behavior
- Keep nest pads cleaner between collections
Extended Nest Pad for Added Protection (NXT V5.2)
All HenGear nest boxes include the NXT V5.2 extended brown nest pad, which extends fully into the
collecting area—helping keep eggs safer and cleaner compared to traditional wire floor designs.
Reversible Design for Flexible Mounting
Reversible Design: Mount egg collection trays on either the front or
rear side of the nest box to match your coop layout and your daily collection routine.

Quick Attach Hangers: Included hangers make installation of your nest box simple and efficient.
Exterior Access with Hinged Back
Hinged Back: Access the nest box from outside your coop to collect eggs, exclude hens, lift the roost
bar, and latch the optional AutoRoost (if used).
Roost Bar for Cleaner Nesting Pads
Roost Bar: After collecting eggs, raise the roost bar to exclude hens from the box overnight. This
helps prevent manure build-up caused by hens sleeping inside the nest.
Protective Curtain System
HenGear nest boxes include two curtains designed to protect eggs and encourage consistent nest use.

Tray Curtain: Exclusive black curtain provides a barrier between the nesting area and the
collection tray—helping safeguard eggs from egg-eating hens.

Privacy Curtain: Red curtain with five-inch wide cutouts allows easier nest entry compared to
older V-cut designs. The red color also helps attract hens to the nest box.
