Setup Recommendations

Because this coop is made from wood and will remain outdoors year-round, applying an exterior stain, paint, or protective finish after assembly is strongly recommended.

The factory stain acts as a base coat and is not intended to provide long-term weather protection.

Anchoring the coop using stakes, pavers, or ground anchors is also recommended for stability.

Predator protection needs vary by region, so some chicken keepers choose to add additional hardware cloth, ground barriers, or electric poultry fencing depending on local wildlife.
